My name is Fernando Flores and this is my portfolio, I find people fascinating and often wonder why they are the way they are, psychology digs into all aspects of that from the physiological to the situational. I enjoy studying all forms. A few of my favorites are Abnormal, Developmental, Behavioral and Family. I would like to seek something more focused on behavioral psychology so I can lean it towards helping those in substance addiction. In my portfolio you will find "My Take" on what we are required to study. I will be adding as we go through this class but I will not be revising on the final week of the semester. I think there is value in reverting back to our initial thoughts and points of views.
Applying psychological frameworks such as Bandura's behavior modeling, Beck's cognitive restructuring, and Goleman's Emotional Intelligence specifically relationship management and self-regulation allows me to enhance workplace performance by fostering psychological safety, de-escalating interpersonal tension, and driving organizational equity. My learning experience across Big Five trait analyses and lifespan development coursework transformed my professional mindset from assuming "people don't change" to recognizing how intentional self-awareness, schema review, and structured reflection enable continuous personal evolution. In a rapidly changing workplace, soft skills like adaptability, proactive self-advocacy, and empathetic active listening empower me to navigate environmental ambiguity and read team dynamics effectively. By pairing these dispositional attributes with a growth mindset that treats operational setbacks as temporary "not yet" learning curves, I sustain long-term project success, build trust through consistent proof of action, and lead cohesive teams through dynamic challenges.
